concert report "ANGELS & AIRWAVES" from jakartaconcerts.com

Angels & Airwaves

Usai bernostalgia, "Rite of Spring", "Secret Crowds", "The Gift" dan "Sirens" pun dimainkan, bahkan ditengah-tengah deretan lagu tersebut, mereka menyisipkan lagu "My First Punk Song" dari Box Car Racer, kembali membuat euphoria penonton meledak. Lagak Tom DeLonge malam itu mengingatkan kita akan performanya saat masih menjadi bagian Blink 182, kelakuan konyol seperti menjatuhkan Matt Wachter yang sedang memainkan bass-nya sampai menjatuhkan mic stand Matt Wachter berulang kali, just like the old times.

It's official: With an introduction of "together again," Blink-182,confirmed that they are back in the Blink business at the Grammy Awards Sunday night (February 8) when they appeared onstage together for the first time in four years.

Emerging to sounds of their 1999 hit "What's My Age Again," bassist Mark Hoppus, drummer Travis Barker — wearing a sling on his injured left arm — and estranged guitarist Tom DeLonge walked out together, with Hoppus joking, "Isn't it great to see the Jonas Brothers and Stevie Wonder back together again?" after the unlikely pairing performed a medley of the Bros' "Burning Up" and Wonder's "Superstition." Barker added, "We used to play music together, and we decided we're going to play music together again," as DeLonge stood awkwardly to the side. Hoppus also yelled, "Blink-182 is back!"

The band's official Web site also confirmed the good news, with a banner that read simply, "Summer 2009." A message from the band explained, "Hi. We're Blink-182. This past week there've been a lot of questions about the current status of the band, and we wanted you to hear it straight from us. To put it simply, We're back. We mean, really back. Picking up where we left off and then some. In the studio writing and recording a new album. Preparing to tour the world yet again. Friendships reformed. 17 years deep in our legacy. Summer 2009. Thanks and get ready."

Hopes were high for the announcement when, on Thursday, it was revealed that the trio would be presenting an award at the Grammys. And they got even higher when Angels & Airwaves guitarist David Kennedy appeared to let slip in a Web chat that same day that Blink were going to record an album this year.

Will Lil Wayne grab all the gramophones? Is Katy Perry going to tell her girl rivals to kiss off? Can Coldplay march off with a win? MTV News is all over the 51st Annual Grammy Awards, so stay tuned for interviews, analysis and more before, during and after the big night.

Stay Together From The Kids - Blink 182

It's hard to wake up, when the
Shades have been pulled shut
This house is haunted,
It's so pathetic,
It makes no sense at all
I'm ripe with things to say,
The words rot and fall away
A stupid poem could fix this home,
I'd read it every day
So here's your holiday,
Hope you enjoy it this time,
You gave it all away
It was mine, so
When you're dead and gone,
Will you remember this night,
Twenty years now lost,
It's not right

The anger hurts my ears,
Been running strong for seven years
Rather then fix the problem,
They never solve them,
It makes no sense at all
I see them everyday,
We get along so why can't they?
If this is what he wants,
And its what she wants,
Then why's there so much pain?

So here's your holiday,
Hope you enjoy it this time,
You gave it all away
It was mine,
So when you're dead and gone,
Will you remember this night,
Twenty years now lost,
It's not right

So here's your holiday,
Hope you enjoy it this time,
You gave it all away
It was mine,
So when you're dead and gone,
Will you remember this night
Twenty years now lost,
It's not right
It's not right
It's not right
It's not right

Adam's Song

I never thought I'd die alone
I laughed the loudest,
Who'd have known?
I traced the cord back to the wall
No wonder it was
Never plugged in at all
I took my time, I hurried up
The choice was mine,
I didn't think enough
I'm too depresed to go on,
You'll be sorry when I'm gone
I never conqured, rarely came
16 just held such better days
Days when I still felt alive
We couldn't wait to get outside
The world was watching
Hate to try
The tour was over we'd survived
I couldn't wait till I got home
To pass the time in
My room alone

I never thought I'd die alone
Another six months,
I'll be unknown
Give all my things to
All my friends
You'll never step foot
In my room again
You'll close it off, board it up
Remember the time that
I spilled the cup
Of apple juice in the hall
Please tell mom this
Is not her fault

I never conqured, rarely came
16 just held such better days
Days when I still felt alive
We couldn't wait to get outside
The world was watching
Hate to try
The tour was over we'd survived
I couldn't wait till I got home
To pass the time
In my room alone

I never conqured, rarely came
Tomorrow holds such better days
Days when I can still feel alive
When I can't wait to get outside
The world is watching
The time goes by
The tour is over I'd survived
I can't wait till I get home
To pass the time
In my room alone
